Academic Progress & Policies
Abilene Christian University is dedicated to ensuring that your online graduate experience fulfills the ACU promise of maintaining a vibrant, innovative, Christ-centered community that engages students in authentic spiritual and intellectual growth, equipping them to make a real difference in the world. This “Current Students” section has important information in regards to achieving satisfactory academic progress and policies pertaining to deferrals, withdrawals, and course add/drops.
Academic Progress
Graduate students are expected to maintain a high degree of academic excellence in all of their studies. A 3.0 GPA or a B must be maintained on a semester basis and overall CGPA in order to graduate. Satisfactory Academic Progress is evaluated at the end of every semester. Students are expected to maintain continuous enrollment for the duration of the program. Students who fall below a B average will be suspended.
Deferral/Leave of Absence Policy
A student can take a maximum of one year as a deferral or leave of absence from the program.
Withdrawal Policy
A student has until the Friday before each course start to withdraw from the course/program without financial penalty. Should the student wish to withdrawal, he/she must contact their Student Service Advisor or Enrollment Advisor in order to do so; a student can withdraw from a course up to two weeks prior to the course end with a “W” grade.
Course Add/Drop Policy
A student has until the Friday before course start to withdraw from the course/ program without financial penalty – the student must contact the Student Service Advisor or Enrollment Advisor in order to do so.
